Since the first competition was held in 1988, the Musashino International Organ Competition has produced some of the most remarkable organists in the world. As Asia's only international organ competition, the Musashino City International Organ Competition is a gripping competition where aspiring organists from around the world are auditioned and screened, with the remaining elite competing on site. Following the 6th winner, Michael Unger, and the 7th winner, Mari Fukumoto, the 8th competition was won by Amanda Mohr, an organist from North America. She completely mastered the characteristics of her instrument, playing the required pieces by Bach, Reger, and Alain, as well as the free piece by Nico Marley, with great panache and precision.
